Shai Wyborski Warns Kaspa Community of Coming Collapse – “I Had Nothing to Do With It When It All Crashes”

Shai Wyborski, a well‑known figure in the Kaspa community, just dropped a tweet that basically every KAS holder might want to see.

In a lengthy post on X, he explained why he will not rejoin Kaspa core. His reason is : he cannot work with people he does not trust.

Wyborski laid out a detailed example. Over the past year, three solutions for programmability on Kaspa emerged: Kasplex's ZKEVM, Igra, and Kaspa core's vProgs. According to Wyborski, core leaders Michael and Yonatan openly criticized Igra, blowing minor details out of proportion and presenting their own views as scientific fact.

But when Kasplex refused to reveal how their protocol works, made evasive statements, and even launched a bridge with a 1.5 percent withdrawal fee buried in the fine print, Wyborski said core stayed silent. He called that fee effectively robbing the community. He suggested the silence comes from a mix of personal vendetta and financial dependence on the Kaspa Ecosystem Fund (KEF).

Wyborski made it clear he wants no part of what is coming. "I want the protocol to be very clear that I had nothing to do with it when it all comes crashing down," he wrote. He admitted his decision to step away may have cost him money and status, but he called it a small price to pay to avoid being involved with people who allow the exploitation of the community he helped build.

He hinted at more behind‑the‑scenes issues, saying there are things he is not at liberty to discuss, though he is increasingly tempted to blow the whistle.

Not throwing the towel yet

Wyborski did not completely trash Kaspa. He said the technology is still awesome, and most core members are talented, driven people with good intentions. But he warned that the more desperate KEF becomes, the more critics they bully and scare away. He believes their schemes to wrench Kaspa from uninformed customers will only get worse.

He ended with a sobering thought: "You cannot expect anyone from core to protect you without risking losing resources they depend on. I'm so glad I'm not in their position."

Our take is simple. This level of public infighting is rare for a project that prides itself on community and technical rigor. Wyborski helped build Kaspa's early following. His warning carries weight. Whether the core team addresses these accusations or ignores them will tell the community everything about who is really in charge. For now, Kaspa holders have a lot to think about.
